The Final Preliminary Regatta of the 37th America’s Cup kicks off in Barcelona today and Woolmark is proud to be supporting the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli team as Technical Partner, a relationship first established in 2019.
Woolmark has worked closely with the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli team to push the boundaries of wool, developing a ground-breaking technical team kit, which the sailors have been wearing throughout training.
The technical training uniforms showcase the unique properties of Merino wool, including elasticity, breathability, comfort, insulation, and water resistance. The kit includes t-shirts, hoodies, shorts, leggings, a cycling suit, a waterproof jacket and a revolutionary ultra-light windbreaker. The latter, weighing only 60 gsm, is fully windproof due to the density of the weave and the 55% Merino wool content ensures superior breathability when performing. Additionally, the cycling suit, which utilises an innovative Merino wool rich fabric, offers enhanced temperature regulation and moisture management benefits and is specifically designed to meet the challenging conditions that the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli team faces.
The renewed partnership consolidates the strong bond between the world of sports and Merino wool.

Don’t miss the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli team in action against the other five competitors at the Final Preliminary Regatta, from August 22nd to 25th. Following this, the Louis Vuitton Cup (August 29th – October 7th) will determine which team advances to the grand showdown at the Louis Vuitton 37th America’s Cup Match (October 12th-27th).
